Saving lives - TOGETHER WE CAN!

HALO is committed to our community, which includes shelters and rescues. We will partner with your shelter or rescue to provide behavior treatment and training for a dog in your care or custody, and make them adoptable through your organization.

HALO will contract to provide boarding and training for up to 30 days with the goal of helping the dog overcome behavior and training issues. Regina Willen will provide a detailed Treatment Plan to continue throughout the dog's stay in your organization, as well as to the dog's forever family.

Requirements: The dog must be fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations (including bordetella), and altered if coming from a rescue.

In addition to behavior modification, HALO will provide a proper fitting muzzle, a New Trix head halter, and a Martingale collar. Each day we will work on: walking in a park and on a bike path, playing in the HALO field, teaching house manners in the living room and office, and placing in a play group (if applicable).

The fee: $25/day or $750 for 30 days for Private 501 (c)(3) Organizations OR $50/day or $1,500 for 30 days

HALO's Shelter & Rescue Program is currently working with shelter and rescue dogs in our transitional shelter. We are their last chance. Although we offer a substantially reduced rate, most organizations have limited to no funding so we need YOUR financial help. Here are our current dogs in the program and a short bio for them, including from which organization.

The cost per dog per day is $25 and the length of stay can be 30 days to several months.

If you would like to sponsor one of the dogs or donate to a specific dog, please click the button to go directly to our PayPal or you can use our Venmo @halo_behavior. Your donation will ensure the dog secures a spot at HALO. This partnership - the shelter, HALO, and our sponsors - is truly saving a life!

Rescue: New Albany Pet Rescue

Hi! My name is Tyson and I'm 6-years old and a German Shepherd Mix. I'm a fun loving fella looking for love! I love to go bye-bye and am a perfect gentleman in the car. I love to go for long strolls and yes, I'm a perfect gentleman on the leash. I'm kinda a scared of men and the HALO people have been working with me. I recently spent the night in a foster home with one of those scary men and after awhile, I realized he wasn't so bad. We went for car rides and walks, played in the yard, and watched basketball together. I also get a little too reactive to other dogs sometimes, and need to be introduced properly (that's what my HALO people tell me). I am a good guy and sooooo ready to find my person so I can stroll, go bye-bye, and lounge on the couch with them. Oh, and I'm pretty darn good-looking! If you'd like to meet me, I'd love to meet you so fill out an adoption application and let's do this! Love and kisses, Tyson

Franklin County Animal Shelter

Hi there my name is Louie and I'm a 10-month pitbull mix. I'm from Franklin County Animal Shelter and am at HALO though the Shelter & Rescue Partner Program. The shelter thought I would be a good candidate for this program because when I was surrendered to the shelter, I was very fearful and showing fear aggression (growling at the shelter staff).

At HALO, I learned that people are not scary and are actually very nice. I also have many, many dog friends who have helped me overcome my fear of people. I am currently working on: walking nicely on a leash (I am still afraid of bikes), respecting items in my room (I still chew on things I shouldn't), and greeting people properly (sometimes I bark at them). Even though I am a work in progress, I am the sweetest boy with the cutest personality.

I would do best in a home with someone who has another confident, well adjusted dog who can teach me how to overcome my issues. I've only been at HALO since August and have made amazing strides. The people at HALO are confident that I will be a perfect companion given the chance. Love, Lou-Lou

We are a foster based organization and DO NOT have our adoptable pets at HALO. You must complete an adoption application to meet the cat or dog. We are by appointment ONLY. If you are interested in adopting Louie, please submit your application www.halok9behavior.com/forms or Franklin County Animal Shelter at dogs.franklincountyohio.gov/services/adoption

HALO's SRPP is much needed, as evidenced by requests for assistance. As a result, we have a waiting list of dogs needing SRPP and financial support for their treatment.

If you or your organization would like to Sponsor a Dog or Donate towards their treatment, please let us know! Or, YOU CAN click the link below the dog to go directly to our PayPal. You can also Sponsor or Donate via our Venmo @halo_behavior. When donating towards SRPP or a specific dog, please type the dog's name or SRPP in the notes section.
